Le Filigare, A Chianti Estate Wedding in the Heart of Tuscany
Few settings in Tuscany can rival Le Filigare for sheer romantic drama. The Terrazza di Venere opens like a natural balcony suspended between sky and rolling vineyard, the vaulted Sala delle Volte lends timeless elegance to evening dancing, and La Veranda, a refined, climate-controlled salon with modular walls and roof, ensures every season is a viable backdrop for an unforgettable celebration. Whether you envision an intimate ceremony among the vines or a grand al fresco dinner under the stars, the estate frames it all with quiet, authentic Tuscan beauty.
Le Filigare works exclusively with symbolic and blessing ceremonies, giving couples the freedom to design a celebration that is deeply personal. The estate can welcome up to 100 guests for events, and with its two historic hamlets available for accommodation, a multi-day wedding weekend is not just possible, it's the natural way to experience this place.
A Historic Estate Rooted in Chianti Classico
Le Filigare takes its name from the hilltop it has occupied since the 11th century, when the hamlet was known as Fiaccole di Sopra and torchlight marked its festival nights. Today the estate spans 60 hectares of certified organic vineyards and olive groves between San Donato in Poggio and Castellina in Chianti, roughly halfway between Florence and Siena, a position that made it a destination even for Pope Pius IX, who stayed here as a guest of the Grand Duke of Tuscany.
Since the late 1970s the estate has been in the hands of the Cassetti Burchi family, Florentine silversmiths and jewellers who spent three decades restoring it to its former prestige. Today Alessandro Cassetti Burchi, his wife Deborah, and their son Lorenzo continue that tradition, guided by a commitment to organic farming and a genuine respect for the landscape that surrounds them. The result is a venue that feels lived-in and authentic, cared for rather than manufactured.
Accommodation, Dining & Experiences
The two historic hamlets, Le Filigare and Le Macine, together accommodate up to 70 guests across 14 apartments furnished in classic Tuscan style, each with air conditioning and garden or hillside views. The panoramic pool offers a natural gathering point between the vines, and the estate's quiet position in the Chianti hills makes it an ideal base for exploring Florence, Siena, and the surrounding medieval villages.
Dining and tasting experiences are very much part of the Le Filigare story. The estate's Café serves food and drinks throughout the day, while winery visits and guided tastings of the estate's organic Chianti Classico and extra-virgin olive oil can be arranged in Bronze, Silver, or Gold packages. Cooking classes, painting courses, and cellar tours round out a programme that keeps guests happily on-site for the full duration of a wedding weekend.
The Perfect Stage for Your Tuscan Wedding
Le Filigare is a working wine estate first and a wedding venue second, and that's precisely what makes it special. Guests don't just attend a wedding here; they inhabit a place with genuine history, character, and craft, from the organic Sangiovese in the cellar to the olive oil pressed from the estate's 2,100-tree grove. It is the kind of venue that guests talk about long after the celebration is over.
My Tuscan Wedding is proud to include Le Filigare in our portfolio of handpicked Chianti estates. For couples who want their wedding to feel rooted in the real Tuscany, beautiful, unhurried, and quietly extraordinary, this is a rare and special find. It was featured in Vogue Italia for exactly these qualities.
