Dreaming of that beautiful Lucca outdoor wedding at sunset overlooking a
picturesque olive grove or field of sunflowers? Here is one thing to keep
in mind, sunset is when the mosquitoes come out and start to bite. You can
still do your wedding outdoors in a scenic location, but remember to ask
your planner to provide you with low terra cotta candle pots filled with
citronella ( a natural mosquito deterrent). If you are having the wedding
near a non-chlorinated body of water, I would go the extra mile and ask if
the florist can spray the area for you on they day. As long as you have no
toddlers or pets in the area, you should be fine. If you have toddlers,
stick with the citronella and hire a babysitter to keep watch of them so
they don't go playing with all of the pretty candles. In the months of June,
July and August, I always keep cans of Off/Autan spray in the bathrooms so
that guests can help themselves. Nothing worse than swollen itchy guests.
