Last weekend Lucca hosted a gathering of Alpine troops. Actually it was mostly former alpine troops, including some pretty old men, plus a few firemen, mountain rescue teams and of course marching bands.

Of course there was a parade, every section neatly lined up behind the banner displaying their town and their motto, each with their distinctive shirt. Just before the parade started, parachutist fllew over the city, and landed just outside the walls.

As the weather was great, lots of people attended before going to church.
