This weed-end, Summer started in Lucca: the weather was beautiful, bars and stores were open, and there was a noticeable increase in te number of tourists in the streets.

Tuesday is April 25th, the Day of the Liberazione, so a lot of Italians have also Monday off, and took a long week-end (traffic was pretty bad on the highway from Florence to the beaches on Saturday).

Thursday will be Santa Zita Day, so the Amphiteatro hosts a flower market and there are flowers and flower stands in various places in the city.
