It Happened in Lucca: Traffic Problems
One of the main parking lots in town, Manzini, closed last month. It will be replaced
by a shiny new and improved one in 18 months.
The road that passes next to it was also closed. This road was the main exit for non-residents who drove into the small part of the town where they are allowed. So now cars are diverted through streets that used to be quiet. Lots of cars!
Locals are really incensed and have started hanging protest signs from their
windows. Which doesn't do much, because the vast majority of cars that pass through
those streets are driven by tourists that entered the town not knowing that circulation was
restricted and that they would have to exit and find a parking space outside of the
walls.

The only happy people are the local journalists, which have found their default headlines for the next 18 month!
