December can be pretty rainy in Lucca, but we also have some beautiful days. Sunday was one of them. The temperature was arount 10C, and it was really sunny.

Of course, with Christmas just around the corner, all the stores were open, and via Fillungo was as crowded as I have ever seen it.

We also enjoyed the small Christmas market on Piazza San Michele, and found out that the Olympic Torch, en route to Torino for the Winter Games, will pass by Lucca on Thursday.

On Piazza Grande, kids were queuing up for the merry-go-round. As for grown-ups (and quite a few kids too!), they were queuing to get on the ice rink that appears on the piazza every December.
