Life in Lucca: Unusual Italian Drinks: Zucca
In honor of Halloween, a drink named Zucca, which is Italian for pumkin.
The Zucca is not make from pumkin at all though, but from rhubarb, with a hint of vanilla. It gets its name from a famous bar in Milano. It is very bitter, but actually I quite liked it. It is light (16 degrees) and quite sweet.
Although a recent advertising campaign presents it as a fashion and life style object of desire I am not sure it is really a hip drink!
